Staff Profile: Laia Torres

Laia Torres

Year 3 Class Teacher (3LT)

Laia is a UK qualified teacher holding a Master degree in Educational Psychology and a Primary and Special Education BA from the University of Barcelona.

After graduating, Laia started teaching in Barcelona, where she took on a variety of teaching roles, teaching Early Years, Primary and Special Needs Education. Completing her Master´s Degree gave her tools to deal with students with a variety of developmental needs and to cater for diversity in the classroom. Later, she moved to London to further develop her career, gaining more experience in the field of Special Needs Education.

Laia believes in a student-centred education where students are the priority in the learning process. She encourages children to participate, establishing positive social relationships and creativity.

Passionate about sports, Laia has been an acrobatic dance coach, participating in national and international championships both in Spain and in the UK. She encourages students to pursue a healthy lifestyle, believing this has a very positive impact on their academic results.
