Gemma began her teaching career working within a mainstream primary school in Birmingham, England but soon realised her passion for children with learning disabilities and moved to work at a special needs school.
Prior to joining Dover Court International School Gemma spent four years working with pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities and pupils with challenging behaviour across primary and secondary. Gemma believes in a life skills based curriculum, using a hands on approach to allow pupils to learn to the best of their ability. Her lessons are individualised to pupils varied needs, creating opportunities for communication and social development and feels that being out in the community is of great importance.
Outside of school Gemma is a very social person and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She loves to be in the sunshine and will be found at the beach most weekends!
