Jade has joined DCIS after teaching at a primary school in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to becoming a teacher, Jade has worked as a nanny in Hawaii, in a summer camp in New York, and has also spent seven years volunteering at the Boys Brigade. She has worked with children of a wide age range in a variety of schools and nurseries as part of college and university placements, including a Reggio Emilia establishment in Italy. Teaching abroad combines two of Jade’s passions: working with children and travelling. She is very excited to be able to do both as she joins Dover Court.
Although Jade is enthusiastic about all curricular areas, she is particularly interested in how to incorporate technology into the classroom, including Google Classrooms and Google Slides. She also enjoys using Active and Cooperative Learning in the classroom, and looks forward to using these methods with her class.
When she’s not in the classroom, Jade enjoys reading, golfing and skiing, although she will miss the latter when in Singapore! Jade enjoys travelling, having been to various places in America, Africa, Europe and Asia. She is looking forward to the opportunity for travelling around South East Asia and Australasia that Singapore provides.
