Staff Profile: Sally Burnett

Sally Burnett

Year 4 Class Teacher (4SB)

Sally graduated from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and went on to complete a PGCE at the same university.

Sally has extensive experience in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. After graduating she taught Year 2 at a primary school in Surrey, UK and took on the role of Science Coordinator and teacher liaison to the board of governors.

Having grown up in Kenya, Sally was keen to work in different countries around the world so after 4 years in the UK she moved to Doha, Qatar where she taught Reception and, later, Year 5. She set up a Gifted & Talented scheme and coordinated Extra Curricular activities as well as coaching swimming and rugby. Sally then moved to be the team leader for Year 2 at an international boarding school in Arusha, Tanzania. She was part of the pastoral care team looking after the boarding students and organising weekend activities and trips, as well as coaching sports teams and establishing a school garden and recycling scheme. Sally has recently been teaching Year 6 at a school in Kent UK and designing and implementing their new curriculum. She has just completed a course in mindfulness and yoga for children and is keen to put it into practice.

Sally is passionate about educating the whole child and is excited to get involved with the many teaching and learning experiences both in and outside of the classroom at Dover Court. Sally loves all sports, especially rugby, cycling and swimming and is looking forward to exploring all the activities that Singapore has to offer.
