Jemma McGee

Jemma McGee

Year 5 Class Teacher, 5JMG and Year Group Leader (Full Time)

Jemma graduated from Lincoln University with a BA (Honours) in Media Production and completed a PGCE in Primary Teaching at Bath Spa University.

Originally from Cambridge, Jemma has lived and worked in London for over 10 years. Her ambition to become a primary school teacher began while working for an American summer camp and assisting with a local Brownie group. Prior to embarking on a career in teaching, Jemma worked for the BBC, contracting presenters and actors on many well-known children’s productions. This also helped influence and encourage her to go in to teaching.

In her capacity as a teacher, Jemma has taught Years 2, 3 and 4, all of which she has thoroughly enjoyed. Jemma is enthusiastic about many areas of the curriculum but is especially interested in science and how it can be integrated into different subject areas. Seeing children light up as they discover new concepts inspires her to challenge herself as a teacher and try new things.

Jemma is enjoying the opportunity to develop her teaching in a vibrant and culturally diverse country as well as exploring Singapore and its surrounding countries.

To ensure that she is continually developing as a teacher, Jemma is always looking for opportunities to enhance her skills. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling and swimming.
