DCA Class Parents
DCA Class Parents are needed for classes across the school, so we have created an online survey to recruit volunteers for this critical role in our school. If you are interested in becoming a Class Parent, please take our survey or contact email@example.com.
Forms and Communication
We thank you all for taking the time to complete the required forms via Docusign. Our Admissions Office is busy updating our database and we will have a clean list of contacts in the next week. However, as a reminder, it is extremely important that we are kept informed of updated information. Should your child be taken ill at any stage, we need to be able to contact you. If, since completion of the Family Contact and Information Form, your number or address has changed, please notify the school office immediately.
Lunch Service: Sodexo
By now all parents should have received an email from Sodexo, our on-campus catering service. The email will read like this:

Reading Volunteer Programme
After a successful start with our Reading Volunteer Programme last academic year, we are delighted to be able to let you know that we are again looking for parent volunteers to come into school to listen to children read on a weekly basis. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to become involved in the life of the school – we will of course give training to our volunteers.
‘Reading Volunteers' will be a regular commitment of approximately 1 hour per week and will be scheduled at the same time each week for those who would like to take part. If you are interested then please could you email the information below to Mrs. Norsheila Abdul: Norsheila.Abdul@dovercourt.edu.sg
- your name
- your phone number
- your own child/children’s class(es)
- the year group you are interested in helping with
- the day that best suits you
It will take a couple of weeks to collect the information and allocate times and classes to parents, so do bear with us on this. I would like to point out that while we can schedule you to work with your child’s year group the commitment would be with a class other than that of your own child.
If you were a reading volunteer at DCIS last academic year and would like to continue then we would be delighted to have you. Please could you also email the above information as we are aware that some details may have changed.
We are pleased to welcome several new teachers to our school this term who bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise which they will share with that of the existing team of professional, experienced and specialist staff in the interest of your children. Information on our teachers can be found on the Our Staff section of the website where you will find profiles of all our teachers.
We have also welcomed over 300 new students this terrm. We trust they will be happy, successful and will discover new friendships and activities at DCIS. Differentiated learning is essential to the programme at DCIS. During the first few weeks of the term, our teachers work with all the students to review and assess their knowledge and individual abilities so as to differentiate their learning.
We would like to remind new parents who have not returned their child's Medical Form to do so as soon as possible as it is crucial that the school has this information in order to ensure the well-being of your child. If you are returning and have had any changes to your medical status, then please complete the form and submit it to our School Reception.
Transport - Safety Rules
The well-being of our students is the starting point, the centre and the end of all school policy decisions. Ensuring the safety of your children is of paramount importance to us. Please bear with us as we embed a safe procedure for the students. To effect this we need your collaboration and cooperation. Please adhere to the saftey rules and Arrival and Dismissal Traffic Management Plan outlined from page 31 in the Parent Handbook.
Reminder: Please note that further details on weekly events and student achievements are also highlighted on the DCIS school blog, homepage, and on Facebook.
As students settle in to their new arrival and dismissal routines, please be rest assured that our staff is committed to answering your questions about the new school year, from class locations to sports teams, from parent forms to bus schedules. The first line of enquiry is your child's class or form teacher. If any questions remain unanswered, please refer to the relevant Year Group Leader.
We look forward to seeing you at all the events scheduled for Term 1 and wish your children a happy and successful academic year.
Mr. Christopher Short
