NAE Global Campus

Sustainable City

  • A big thank you to Miss Vessey and Mr. Handley who organised a fantastic Lego event.
  • Primary students created a sustainable city out of Lego, with help from experts from the Lego Company.
  • The final product has been on display near the front steps of our school.

Ask The Artist

  • Last month, over 400 students submitted questions to Juilliard Alumni and professional dancer Riley O’Flynn in the Global Campus Online “Ask the Artist” activity.
  • After reviewing all of the questions, Riley has picked 15 to reply to, and you can see his video answers on Global Campus Online in the Juilliard section.

  • Riley honestly answers questions about being a male dancer, his biggest challenges, how he choreographs, his diet, fitness, and much more.

Juilliard Music Core Works

  • We’re pleased to announce an update to the Juilliard Music Core Works on Global Campus Online.
  • Now, students can not only listen to the 12 pieces of music via Spotify and YouTube that comprise the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Music Curriculum, but they can also watch additional video content suggested by our music teachers which will help them extend their learning outside of the classroom.
  • We have also given our students the opportunity to reflect on the Core Works and connect with each other by asking them to think about how the music makes them feel and encouraging them to express these thoughts on Padlets.

Global Goals Resource Centre

  • Check out the added Global Goals resources on GC Online. Resources include:

  • How to use your writing to make a difference, World Poverty Clock, Global Goals FAQs, Track the Goals

UNICEF Global Goals Survey

  • Thanks to all who’ve taken the survey so far.
  • In addition to having every Nord Anglia student participate, UNICEF would also like to hear responses from students in your neighbouring communities, so please share this survey with them!

  • Students outside of our school can complete the survey via the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q92R6ZS

  • This is a great opportunity to understand what students think about the Global Goals and to learn more about what they are doing to support them.

Global Library – 100 Best Books Activity

  • We are curious to hear about the best books students have read this academic year. We’d therefore like to invite all NAE students to take a look at BookTrust’s 100 Best Books list on GC Online and share their thoughts around:

  • Which book from this list do you think is the best you have ever read?
  • Which books do you think are missing from this list?
  • Students are encouraged to post book tiles in any language, not just English.
  • We hope that with this feedback, we can evolve the Global Library into something that will not only help to develop global mindedness and enhance literacy skills, but also cultivate a love of reading in all NAE students!

STEAM

  • Check out some updated resources in the STEAM area on GC Online. Resources and activities include:

  • What is STEAM?
  • Videos linked to the themes of the MIT Challenges
  • An area about SCRATCH, where students can learn about SCRATCH, test out an NAE student’s game and provide constructive feedback. There is also an area for students to submit their own SCRATCH games!

Have a great week everyone. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries you may have, and keep in contact! We love to see and hear what you have been up to with the Global Campus.

Many thanks,

The Global Campus Team
