BIS Hanoi Extra Curricular Activities got off to a great start There was an excitable atmosphere around school as some of our younger students - who were experiencing extra-curricular activities for the first time – were participating alongside some of our older students, who are currently preparing for tournaments in Thailand and Nepal.

Last week our ECAs got off to a great start, with around 100 activities being offered and around 1,100 activities being undertaken; more than ever before.

There was an excitable atmosphere around school as some of our younger students - who were experiencing extra-curricular activities for the first time – were participating alongside some of our older students, who are currently preparing for tournaments in Thailand and Nepal.

This year we’ve improved a number of areas within our ECA programme and it was particularly impressive to see so many of our students involved in community projects, whether it was as part of our whole school community in the BIS shop or BIS Magazine, or, as part of making a sustainable contribution to a local community with an external organization, as our Year 12 students were involved in.

We are very proud of our ECA programme and we strongly encourage all students to take part in as many activities as possible. Some of the benefits include: physical health and general well-being; improved social skills; a sense of self-efficacy; and developed language skills.

Mr. Mark Atkinson, ECA Programme Coordinator
