On the 28th October we took the students from the Drama Monologue ECA to compete in the 3rd annual inter-school Monologue competition for Saigon.
The event was held at the American International School, and gave our students a chance not just to compete but also to meet with Drama students from other schools and to be able to share their expertise and opinions with a wider range of peers. Our students were exceptional, and as a result, placed in four of six possible categories.
Zelda Bourgoin Avril won first place in the KS3 devised monologue category
Nina Pham won second place in the KS3 scripted monologue category
Gin To tied for first place in the KS5 scripted monologue category
Cecile Heuveling Van Beek tied for first place in the KS5 devised monologue category
We are extremely proud of the students who were placed in their categories but not just for the accolades. We also feel immensely proud of their hard work in the preparation for the event, and for the courage of our students to get up there on the stage by themselves and allow others to judge them.
I personally want to say a huge congratulations to all of the students involved and a huge thank you for their hard work and for entertaining me with their performances both at the competition and in the preparation for it.
