TX Basketball Vs EIS

25 September 2015

TX welcomed the European International School this week for the 2nd basketball fixtures of the season. Unlike the clean sweep of last time out there were mixed results for our teams. The girls again played first and got off to a flying start.

Kelly Tran was in immense form using her height and pace to score 5 baskets before half time making the score 10-2 to TX at the break. The Europeans came more into the game after the half scoring 2 baskets to take the score to 10-6, but good work from Mina Huynh and Soo A Kim provided a basket for Susu Lee to extend TX’s lead. Kelly Tran had time to score two more baskets and take her total to 14 points for the game and 20 points for the season.

FINAL SCORE: TX   14 – 6   EIS      SCORERS: Kelly Tran (14 pts)  Susu Lee (2pts)

The boys followed and made a great start with Andrew Vu scoring after 20 seconds to give TX the lead. The first half was a very close battle with both sides showing a decent approach play but often the last pass of shot evaded them. Khoa Tran eventually added two baskets after needing multiple rebounds but the EIS also scored baskets of their own. At half time EIS lead 8 – 6.

The second half was more one sided with the 2 obviously skilled and experiences members of the EIS team took control of the game. TX fought bravely but couldn’t prevent EIS running in another 4 baskets, although Rishi Ahuja did add a consolation basket for TIS.

FINAL SCORE: TX  8 – 16  EIS    SCORERS: Andrew Vu (2pts) Khoa Tran (4pts) Rishi Ahuja (2pts)

The season continues next week as we host AP1 in the BIS primary school derby. Come along and support the team!
