Year 1 are not afraid of the Big Bad Wolf!

06 September 2016

Year 1 has been busy embracing our new ‘Talk 4 Writing’ programme. During the Non Pupil days in August, teachers were involved in training for this and you will no doubt have seen or heard about it from your children.

  • Year 1 has been busy embracing our new ‘Talk 4 Writing’ programme beginning with the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’

Talk 4 Writing enables children to develop their oral story-telling skills, through drama, role play, art, shared writing and a variety of other means. They can rehearse and develop their ideas in a fun way to become better writers.

Talk4Write teaches children the necessary skills in a fun and developmentally appropriate way, beginning with learning to retell a story using actions.

Year 1 children have begun with the well-known story of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ Ask them to tell you the story. You will be delighted by the confident way they use story book language and new vocabulary. Look out for photographs and videos on class blogs.

You can find out more about it here. http://www.talk4writing.co.uk/
