The Hoi An trip is designed to develop independence and focuses on the 6 attributes from the Aide Memoire; Respect, Perseverance, Caring, Integrity, Enquiry and Reflection.

APP Year 5 in Hoi An 2017 Each year the Year 5 teachers and students from British International School HCMC head off to Hoi An to participate in a variety of activities that are aimed to develop their understanding of Vietnamese Culture.

The Hoi An trip is designed to develop independence and focuses on the 6 attributes from the Aide Memoire; Respect, Perseverance, Caring, Integrity, Enquiry and Reflection.

On Tuesday the 7th March, 127 students and 12 teachers headed off to the airport. It was a very early start but everyone arrived on time and the children were very excited about the adventure ahead.

On arrival in Danang, we split in to two groups and headed to our first activities. The children participated in a variety of experiences throughout the trip. They learnt how to make traditional Vietnamese lanterns and clay toys and they participated in farming activities and a Vietnamese cooking class at Tra Que Vegetable village.

A trip to My Son Holy Land was a new addition to the trip this year and the children enjoyed learning about the history of the temples and how it links to the period of history we are currently studying.

Marble Mountain provided the back drop for abseiling and we were very impressed by how many children completed an abseil. The hotel was fabulous and the children absolutely loved cooling off after a hard day in the pool. We returned to HCMC on Friday 10th March, tired but happy. It was a great trip.

We would like to thank all of the PTV staff and the staff at the Golden Sands Resort for creating an amazing experience for the children.
