Our canteen dishes are prepared and served by Ms Jenny Low and her staff at Cuizo, and on three occasions Jenny has opened the doors to over 200 families to experience and taste what the children experience every day. Each time the floor was opened for feedback and reflections as Ms Jenny values both the children’s and parents’ thoughts and comments regarding the dishes. We heard many positive comments including;
- “Great to see the range of food available for the children. It’s tastier than I thought it would be!” (Y6 parent)
- “I am going to stop making packed lunches for my child! This food is excellent!” (Y4 parent)
- “Please can I have the recipe for the ‘Chick Pea Curry’ as my son loves it and enjoys all of Jenny’s cooking!” (Early Years Parent)
Parents were given the opportunity to taste six of the options; Spaghetti Bolognaise, Roast Chicken, Spicy Pork with Tofu, Beef Rendang, Vegetarian Chick Pea Curry, Lentil Shepherd’s Pie and a selection from the Deli Bar. It is great to learn that all dishes were described as tasty, delicious and yummy!
The EY&I and Junior Campus canteens are well managed and checked for hygiene and safety practices once a month by the Campus Facilities Managers, the Nurses and Deputy Head Teachers. The chefs and kitchen staff are dedicated to outstanding practice and maintain these standards throughout all their preparation and serving of all snacks and meals.
We are privileged to have Ms Jenny preparing all our meals; with her knowledge, experience and passion to serve, we always have a wholesome and healthy meal. Thank you to Ms Jenny and her team from the children and staff!
Ms Mary McAloon, Deputy Head Teacher
