PTG Book Club - Novelicious
The last book, 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World by Elif Shafak was an easy read and there were lots of interesting and intriguing thoughts shared.
The PTG Book Club will be holding their 4th meeting in January. Reading time for the book Pachinko by Min Jin Lee has been extended over the Christmas period and the group look forward to reviewing it when we return. The next meeting is:
- Date: Tuesday, 14th January
- Time: 11am
- Location: The Curve, Secondary Campus
- Book Club Coordinator: Huma Jaudat at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The existing members of the club collectively decided on the following books for the next few months…….
- February : Becoming, Michelle Obama
- March : A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
- April : Pavilion of Women by Peak S. Buck
Perhaps you would like to purchase or borrow them in your travels over the Christmas break.
Vietnamese Cooking Tour
Vietnamese Cooking Tour was a great success. Participants enjoyed learning about the local Vietnamese ingredients and the nuances of using them in cooking. The class could accommodate the requests of both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian cooking.

Our biggest annual event, the British International School Christmas 'BISzaar' was held on Saturday 7th December at BIS Secondary.
We had an overwhelming response of visitors.
PTG also invited the parents to participate and it was indeed a pleasure to see a few of them participate. Besides that, the parent choir and our school children performed which brought the whole event alive.
Our community partners enjoyed their time at the BISzaar indulging in playing different games, eating and exploring. Donations of food by different vendors and sponsored coupons by the PTG helped them enjoy with ease.
Santa was seen interacting with the kids and distributing them candies. There were happy smiles all around the place.
In line with the pledge of discouraging single use plastic and moving more towards sustainability, the vendors who agreed to go along with us only were allowed to participate. This helped increasing awareness and moving forward together towards a brighter future.
By the sales of raffle tickets and invaluable support of all our sponsors we could raise enough and more funds which will all go to support our community partners.
Thank you to each and every person who contributed in every which way and helped us make this a successful event. Without you it was not going to be possible.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
