Year 3 IPC Entry Point - Fossils Found at BIS HCMC

It is the start of a new year and all the children in Year 3 have been getting to know their new classmates and teachers.

Alongside making new friends, there have also been new beginnings for all the units of work that Year 3 will be completing this half term. Within all units, asking questions and talking to each other is always a priority.

This was especially true of the entry point this week for the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) topic ‘Dinosaurs’. All the children in Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed using their enquiry skills to become palaeontologists and uncover dinosaur bones at the back of the Junior Campus. They worked well as a team to dig up the bones and then ask questions and discuss to decide what they may learn about the creatures. The teachers were very impressed with how they were able to explain their thinking and listen to each other to develop their understanding further. Year 3 has made such a positive start to the year and I’m sure that it is just the start of what will be a memorable year.
