Primary: Weekly Update 07/01/2022 Happy New Year to all of our BIS Community. Welcome back to all of our BIS families and a particularly warm welcome to all of our new families joining us this term. Although we are disappointed not to be able to welcome you all in person to campus, we look forward to seeing all of you very soon.

Happy New Year to all of our BIS Community.  Welcome back to all of our BIS families and a particularly warm welcome to all of our new families joining us this term.  Although we are disappointed not to be able to welcome you all in person to campus, we look forward to seeing all of you very soon.

In preparation for the return to school for all children at both primary campuses, we have organised some pre-visits for the children to meet with their class teachers and teaching assistants and to familiarise themselves with the school.  In addition, children will be able to collect their uniform and personal belongings and for those new to school or new to their campus such as the Year 3 students, have a tour of the school.

These visits will take place in the coming weeks and information will go from each class teacher with specific details of days and times.  We strongly encourage all families to attend these sessions. For our younger children, parents will attend with them, all the relevant details will be in the letter from the class teachers.

Parent Teacher Student Conferences.

Primary: Weekly Update 07/01/2022-primary-weekly-update-07-01-2022-PTSCsmin

Next week we will have our Parent Teacher Student Conferences.  These meetings provide the perfect opportunity for you to talk to your child’s class teacher about their Interim report that you will have received at the end of last term and next steps to help with their learning and progress.  All families received information about booking a meeting in an email dated Wednesday 5th January. The sign up closes on Monday 10th January and we look forward to 100% attendance for all families.  The meetings will be virtual.

Tet Collection

Tet is a time to celebrate and give luck and thanks to everyone. At the Early Years and Infant Campus we will collect new school supplies for our community partners. At the Junior Campus, we will be collecting Health and Hygiene products.  Please see the posters for more details. The collection has been extended to January 14th.  Items can be dropped at Gate A of the EY&I and Gate A of the Junior Campus.  Full information has been shared on Seesaw. Thank you in advance for your generosity in supporting our Community Partners

Parent Satisfaction Survey

Primary: Weekly Update 07/01/2022-primary-weekly-update-07-01-2022-Parent Survey

At BIS, the education that we provide is based upon research, experience and feedback.  The feedback can be in the form of exam results or through the analysis of data we collect in school; another essential part is the feedback we receive from parents and staff.  On Tuesday, you should have received an email from Mr Anthony with details about and a link to this year’s Parent Satisfaction Survey.  Please take a moment to complete the survey, as the information you provide plays a vital role in the strategic planning process as we work together to make BIS an even better place for our children to learn.

And, finally...

Primary: Weekly Update 07/01/2022-primary-weekly-update-07-01-2022-Tet 2022 Banner

New year, whether it be the Gregorian calendar year or the lunar calendar year, is a time to reflect on the past and look forward to what the future may bring.  We are all hopeful that 2022 will see many aspects of life returning to normal (albeit a ‘new normal’) with a key feature for schools being children returning to campus.  The signs are looking positive for a return for all students after the Tet holiday; a message that was confirmed by the Department of Education and Training in a meeting on Friday morning.

We will continue to work with the authorities to ensure that all the relevant Covid control measures are in place to ensure the campuses are as safe as possible for the children.

Have an enjoyable weekend,
