Primary School Results 2018

At BIS HCMC our aim is to provide our primary school children with the academic knowledge and practical skills they need to become successful life-long learners from an early age. We are proud that BIS students achieved higher than the expected in both English and Maths, out-performing other International Schools worldwide and national standards in the UK.

At BIS in 2016 a review of the curriculum and assessment began.  From 2017 the new attainment and progress structure was implemented with specific Age Related Expectations (AREs) tailored to a BIS student.  These AREs are particularly challenging to suit ­the high levels of ability of students at BIS.  Alongside the BIS AREs, students sit the international recognised GL Assessments, which provide a standardised assessment score (SAS).  This standardised assessment score confirms the high attainment that the BIS students continuously achieve when compared against worldwide standards.

The expected SAS score is 100 for each year group.  BIS students achieved higher than the expected in both English and Maths and performed better than other international schools worldwide and UK schools.  This is a great achievement and continues the success of our BIS students.

Progress is followed by attainment and it is pleasing to see the increase in outcomes as the children go through the years of education at BIS HCMC.  Attainment is judged against our challenging BIS Age Related Expectations (AREs).  Comparing the SAS scores, the curriculum expectations for our BIS students is above the world and UK average.
