The Year 10 trip to Hong Kong is specifically designed to show students three distinctly different sides to Hong Kong. One day is based in Sai Kung Country Park, close to the accommodation, and focussed on the environment and survival skills. The second day takes students on a walk from one end of Lamma island to the other, passing along the coast and through abandoned villages. The pupils also visit a floating fishing village. The third day starts in Central and finishes with the ‘Symphony of Lights’ show in Hong Kong harbour. The day includs a walk through Hong Kong Park and aviary, a trip on the Peak Tram, walking under the world’s longest escalator, riding on the MTR, travelling by cable car to see the Big Buddha, and enjoying a wonderful Chinese meal. The evenings are filled with fun activities, taking photos of local sites or simply relaxing in the centre’s café.
Overall, the trip itself offers multiple opportunities for outdoor learning, and enlightening cultural and environmental experiences.
