I have been a teacher for five years, both internationally and in the UK. I am incredibly lucky to have chosen a career that I enjoy so much and that has enabled me to meet some incredible people from all across the world. Before starting at TBS Warsaw, I taught in China, in a city called Qingdao (it is not very well known, but has a population of 9 million people!). Previous to that, I taught in a high-achieving state school in London. These experiences were obviously completely different to one another, but the consitent theme was how much I enjoyed interacting with students and discussing literature with them.

I took the decision to join TBS Warsaw due to the school's excellent reputation. I also can't deny that it will be great to be closer to home, and most importantly I won't have to wake up at three in the morning to watch Arsenal matches! Warsaw is a city that I am excited to explore in more depth. It is an exciting, vibrant and historically significant city that I would love to experience in more depth. As well as retaining its links to its history, the city has become a forward-thinking, modern, global city.

Following this I have taught in Brighton, Doha, Shanghai and Bangkok where my roles have included PE teacher, Head of Aquatics, Head of Whole College PE and House Parent. My greatest achievement in teaching is developing a broad curriculum that allows all pupils to find an area of sport and fitness that they enjoy and want to participate in after school.

We arrived in Warsaw In March 1993, with our three small children. I had been very happy teaching Chemistry in a large Comprehensive school in central  London for 6 years, but had to give this up for our new adventure. My eldest daughter joined Reception in September, by which time, the school had already grown exponentially.  Finding it difficult to cope without the stimulation of a job, I managed to find work and it wasn’t till September 1996 that a part-time Science job became available for me at The British School. I have been teaching in the school ever since. I have been part of the school’s growth from Primary, to Secondary to IB. Virtually every year has seen a new challenge and it continues to grow and change.
