Mark Stimpson

Head of Humanities, Geography Teacher & Year 9 Tutor

I am Scottish and come from Glasgow where I also completed my undergraduate degree in Geography in 1997 and my post-graduate certificate in secondary education (PGCE) at Strathclyde University in 2002. I also gained a Diploma in School Improvement from Birmingham University in 2015 and have some short experience of being a caretaker school principal.

Between qualifying as a secondary teacher in 2002 and gaining my Diploma at Birmingham, England, I worked at several high schools in Dundee and Perth in Scotland. I moved to Germany in 2007 to teach at a large international school in Cologne and Aachen, where I was also the IB CAS Co-ordinator and Assistant to the Deputy Head of Upper School. I am delighted to be teaching again, and also look forward to developing and growing Geography at the British School of Warsaw.

I enjoy my cooking – especially Indian! I do running when I can, and recently took place in the Düsseldorf mini-Marathon. I also like jazz music and visits to the cinema. I have travelled extensively around Europe and now hope to be able to explore India and Indo-Australia in the next few years.
