William Walder

English Teacher

I have been a teacher for more than five years, both internationally and in the UK. I am incredibly lucky to have chosen a career that I enjoy so much and that has enabled me to meet some incredible people from across the world. Before starting at TBS, I taught in China, in a city called Qingdao (it is not very well known, but has a population of 9 million people!)

Previous to that, I taught in a high-achieving state school in London. These experiences were obviously completely different to one another, but the consistent theme was how much I enjoyed interacting with students and discussing literature with them.

I took the decision to join TBS due to the school's excellent reputation. I am excited to be exploring the city in depth. It is an exciting, vibrant and historically significant city which as well as retaining links to its history, has become a forward-thinking, modern, global city.

As previously mentioned, I am a keen football fan, and love playing and watching it as much as possible. I am also a runner; I am even doing the Warsaw marathon this year. If you want to see me struggle over the finish line, please come and watch (or actually, please don't)!

As an English teacher, I have a life-long love of literature. Reading is a key component of my professional life, but also my personal life.
