Luiza Szachnowska

French Teacher & Year 10 Tutor

My adventure with French started in high school - my passion for the language and culture was so strong that I decided to move to Paris after my graduation. In Paris, I studied French culture and literature at University of Sorbonne and this was an amazing experience that influenced my decision to become French teacher. I came back to Warsaw to complete my studies and obtained my Master’s Degree in French Language Teaching Methodology at The Department of French Philology of Warsaw University.

I have been working in The British School Warsaw as a French teacher since 2006 teaching Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. Before this, I taught French in Association d’Amitie Pologne-France in Warsaw.

Outside school I enjoy spending time with my family - I am a mother of two boys. I have a passion for rock music, but not necessarily just French rock music. In my free time I also like to make jewellery.

To learn a new language you have to be open-minded and creative. I believe the highest quality learning helps students achieve their true potential to excel at school and beyond.
