I have always loved working with children and have had the opportunity to do this in a variety of contexts. Shortly after graduating from school, I already enjoyed tutoring, working at summer camps and volunteering with children’s charities. I began my teaching journey at a summer camp in Connecticut, USA in 1999. I was responsible for teaching campers how to ride horses and provide arts and crafts experiences for them - two things I love doing myself!  This was my first work experience after graduating from an English Literature degree at The University of Wales, Bangor and I loved it. I then went on to study Primary School Teaching at the Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education the following year. I initially started teaching in Key Stage 2, but soon learned that my true passion lay in Key Stage 1.  For me, there is no bigger joy than seeing the delight on a child’s face as they master a new skill for the first time.
