Having completed teacher training in the UK I have been lucky enough to work in a great variety of schools and now find myself back in Warsaw after being part of the launch team for IB from 2001-2003. How things have changed since we moved from that tiny site at Orkana! I have taught in Kent, Perthshire, Sussex and Lancashire, working as a Head of Department and at various times as tutor, Housemaster and Head of Sixth Form. In 2009 I graduated from the University of Sussex with an MA in Education studies which had a particular focus on international education and specifically the IB Diploma Programme.
I first came to Poland in 1993, teaching English on a UNESCO language camp in Brzesko in the south of the country. This is where I first met my wife, Marta, and now over 20 years later we are very much enjoying living in Warsaw with our two boys Ben and Dan who, having been out in the sticks for most of their lives, are embracing the excitement of city life and learning Polish much quicker than me. As a family we are into all things outdoors so it is great to see that Warsaw can offer good access to green spaces, cycle paths and all other opportunities that give us no excuse for not keeping fit!
