I have been teaching internationally for 14 years and have taught on almost every continent in many different countries. Before coming to Warsaw I taught in the Dominican Republic and was very much looking forward to moving to Europe, where it is easy to travel and where I could enjoy seasons similar to Canada’s.
Highest Quality Learning
Highest Quality Learning (HQL) is what happens in any good lesson. Students should be engaged and interacting with the teacher and each other in such a way that contributes to good academic and social progress. They should be exploring new ideas and generating their own opinions using a variety of exciting resources. If there is HQL taking place students will take responsibility for their own learning and will be eager to learn more.
What the Students Say
Miss Ellis is one of my favourite teachers because her lessons are led in a creative way and she always makes it interesting to learn Geography at any age. I love the way she explains things because it is really straight forward and we don’t get confused.
Miss Ellis is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is fun and teaches really well. She also enjoys what she is doing and that is helpful for us. She has unleashed the historian in me.
Miss Ellis teaches history in such a great way, when she tells us stories about what happened she really gets into it and so do we. Everyone is sucked into her passionate stories. When she talks about the past the whole room listens quietly in amazement.
