I was educated at Monmouth School, the oldest school in Wales and the leading all-boys Welsh boarding school. I read Pharmacology at Bristol University before training as a science teacher gaining my PGCE at Bristol University in 1997. My experiences drawn from the time as a pupil at an exceptional boarding school led me to want to teach. Since then I have worked in leading schools in the UK including Magdalen College School, Oxford the top all-boys’ school in the UK at the time and St Paul’s Girls’ School, London, arguably the leading UK school for the last 20 years.
In 2009 together with my artist wife, Natasha we left London to move to Abu Dhabi where our three young children have all been born. I was the founding Deputy Head Master of Brighton College Abu Dhabi which opened in September 2011 before moving to Al Ain as the founding Head Master of Brighton College Al Ain in December 2012; in August 2014 I returned to Abu Dhabi as the Head Master of Brighton College Abu Dhabi. In January 2017 my family and I relocated to Europe beginning in my new role as Principal of The British School Warsaw anticipating significant growth and development of what is already the highest achieving IB Diploma school in Central and Eastern Europe as it begins to celebrate its 25th Anniversary year. In my limited spare time I enjoy fishing, experiencing new cultures and spending time with my young family. My wife, Natasha, is a textile sculptor graduating with a MA in Textile Fine Art from Goldsmith’s London and mother to our three young children Ophelia, Sebastian and Constance.
