I studied Psychology (BSocSc) at the University of Southampton and it was here that I developed an interest in the way people best learn and how to overcome any obstacles to learning. I then worked for several years as a Civil Servant where one of my responsibilities was to train new recruits and current staff. With a family move abroad, I completed the Cambridge CELTA course. I then taught English as an Additional Language for four happy years at The British School in the Netherlands.
On moving to Warsaw, I spent two years working as a Learning Support Assistant at TBS. Following this, I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). I am delighted to be officially joining The British School of Warsaw as a Learning Support Teacher.
Highest Quality Learning
Highest Quality Learning is developing the skill-set to become effective, lifelong learners. In Learning Support, it is important that we assist children in recognising and developing their strengths as well as supporting their needs. Through nurturing and individualised teaching, children can be helped to find strategies so that they can overcome any obstacles, have high expectations of themselves and feel confident about their ability to succeed.
