I have been working at The British School since 2009, teaching subjects like Theory of Knowledge (IB), Religious Studies - Ethics (IGCSE), PSHCE, English and History (KS3). My educational background includes MA degree at the Institute of English Studies at Warsaw University, courses in Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University and a postgraduate degree in Supporting the Development of Children and Young People at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw. Since September 2017 I have been developing a new Careers and Work experience programme.

I enjoy discussion-based lessons and an interdisciplinary projects where students discover the multi-faceted nature of knowledge and learn respect and understanding for various points of view. It is fascinating for me to see the uniqueness of every student and help them spread their wings.

I was always interested in Mathematics, Physics and other disciplines of knowledge which teach logical and structured thinking. This is why I decided to apply for Mathematics and Computer Science, completing five year course of Master`s Degree in the scope of Applications of Mathematics at Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin. Subsequently, me and my wife who is a fellow maths teacher, decided to settle down in UK and complete Secondary Mathematics PGCE at Southampton University. Shawn Langan

    Year 12 Tutor, Physics teacher

    Shawn Langan

As a physics and astronomy student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the U.S.A., I co-authored several journal articles related to pulsating variable stars. When I entered graduate school, I continued at UNL as a graduate research and teaching assistant, where I conducted research with a 4-meter telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona. Since these days as a student, I have loved gazing at the heavens and discovering the structure and beauty of the physical universe, alongside of students with inquiring minds.
I began teaching physics and astronomy laboratories and lectures, at UNL in 2000. Since that time, I have changed from research in fundamental astronomy to developing methods that assist students in learning complex scientific principles and applying those principles to the students’ research interests. This project brought in roughly $50,000 USD in Student Fellowships, from NASA.
