Science has been my real passion since my own school days, and this led me to complete a Medical Studies degree at the University of Birmingham. Although I went on to train and work as a Quantity Surveyor, I quickly realised that the aspects of the job which I enjoyed most involved teaching and training. I subsequently completed my PGCE at St. Mary’s University and was delighted to be back in the classroom. I have since worked as a Science Teacher, specialising in Biology, across all year groups in both the state and private sector. I am coming to BSW from Eltham College in South London, where I have led the Medical Society and prepared students for their first steps in careers in Medicine. I was also in charge of a devolved leadership project to expand the use of IT in the classroom, and I enjoy exploring new avenues in teaching and learning.
I am excited to be joining the BSC, not only because of its great reputation and the chance to be part of a brilliant community of staff and students, but also because of its proximity to areas of great scientific significance and beauty!
I am Polish by descent and am looking forward to getting a taste of life in Warsaw with my wife and daughter. I enjoy looking for opportunities to experience Biology beyond the classroom and am excited to explore the local countryside, Poland’s national parks, Bialowieza and that Tatra Mountains. I am a Fulham Football Club supporter and also a trained Polish dancer (I danced in a Polish Dance group for twenty years) and am proud to know my walczyks from my obereks!
