In my thirties, I decided to make a career change and went to the University of Bristol to train as a Mathematics teacher. I then taught for two years in Kent, UK before joining the Nord Anglia company at their school in Shanghai. During the six years I spent there, I gradually migrated from the Mathematics department to Computer Science.

Year 11 Tutor, Computer Science Teacher

    Robert Shepley

I became a teacher relatively recently, in September 2016. At the time, I was working as an IT Project Manager for IBM in Malaysia.  My IT career spans 25 years and includes strong ties with education, having previously worked as IT Director at The British International School Jakarta and Senior IT Manager at The Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur; he has worked at two UK universities as well as the British Council.

Prior to leaving the UK in 2011, I worked for an IT Systems Integrator providing Technical and Professional Services to educational and health sector customers across the UK for 12 years.  I considers himself a lifelong learner and holds a number of professional qualifications including PMP, MCSE and ITIL v3 Expert and encourages his students to do the same.

I am really enjoying teaching, using his industry experience to encourage students toward their own successful careers in Computing.  The decision to join The British School Warsaw was a simple one, knowing that the school places great emphasis on the quality of learning and is part of the Nord Anglia family.

    Darren Gale

My most recent posting is Leman International School, Chengdu, China. My wife and I have taught there for 5 years, during which it became part of the Nord Anglia Group. So we are continuing in a school which sets high standards, though we are looking forward to moving to a larger school were we will meet new colleagues and have new experiences with a European flavour.

I have taught for 30 years, 10 in China, 2 in Thailand, 1 in Qatar and 17 in United Kingdom. I have held some management posts but have returned to my passion, which is being in the classroom with creative and inquisitive young people. I love Mathematics, but am also keen on most sports and have coached football for many years.
