Charlotte Parker-McMahon

Charlotte Parker-McMahon

Head of Secondary PE & Year 7 Tutor

I studied Sports and Exercise Science with PE at the University of Brighton followed by my PGCSE. Following this I have taught in Brighton, Doha, Shanghai and Bangkok where my roles have included PE teacher, Head of Aquatics, Head of Whole College PE and House Parent. My greatest achievement in teaching is developing a broad curriculum that allows all pupils to find an area of sport and fitness that they enjoy and want to participate in after school.

Having previously worked for Nord Anglia in Shanghai I was keen to come and work with the company again due to their passion and love of teaching and learning. I am also excited to move back to Europe and be closer to my family and friends in the UK.

High Quality Learning to me is ensuring that each pupil enjoys what they are learning and understands why they are learning and can see the bigger picture. It is ensuring that each pupil can take ownership of their own learning and understands where they currently are and what their next steps are to progress.

My main hobbies and interests are sport related. My back ground is swimming and water polo where I enjoyed competing across Europe and loved the competition element that these sports bought. Now I enjoy sport on a more recreational level and enjoy going to the gym, swimming and playing football and badminton. I also have a 14 month old daughter so I also enjoy playing with her, going on family holidays and travelling to new and exciting places.
