Jean Kingham Heaad of EAL

Head of Additional Support Department

I have been teaching English to speakers of other languages for more than 25 years. My career started in Burma at a little international school and I then worked with secondary and tertiary students at the British Council.

I then joined a very successful British international school in Bangkok, Thailand, and taught children in Reception and Key Stage 1 for 15 years.  In 2006, I moved to the British international school Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where I taught Key Stage 2 and led the support programmes in both English as a Second Language and Special Educational Needs. I joined The British School Warsaw together with my husband, Louis Bezodis.

My two sons, my husband and I are all very excited about being in Warsaw.  After living in the desert for 8 years, we particularly enjoy seasonal changes and spending time discovering Poland.  I am interested in birds and look forward to the Spring and Autumn migrations.

I believe that every child has something special that can be built upon and although each learning tower may be of different heights, all towers can be built higher than may previously have been believed.
