Hi. After 9 years at another Nord Anglia School- The British International School of Washington I decided to look for pastures a new and very excited to be working here at BSW. My subjects include economics, business and mathematics. My passion is working with young children and challenging them to do their very best. Before I was a teacher I worked in the banking sector for a number of years. I enjoy a wide variety of sports and willing to have a go at anything. I have been fortunate to travel to many countries around the world and I love to taste different cuisines with Thai and Indian my favourites. I look forward to my time here at BSW and getting to know and work with both students and parents here, and hope to make a real difference.

I have been now teaching for 33 years at university, college and secondary school levels. I began my secondary school teaching in 1989 when I took a post as a science teacher in Hamilton, Canada.  After a couple of years of teaching in Canada, I decided to travel to Europe by accepting a post at an international school in Munich, Germany. This marked the beginning of 24 years of international education and my involvement with the IB programme, teaching IB Physics, Mathematics and TOK for the past 24 years. I also had a fantastic opportunity of teaching physics and mathematics at Oxford and Cambridge Universities as well as MIT, and I have tried to continue conducting academic research in thermodynamics when time permits. I have been an IB inspector, examiner and workshop leader and I have written a Pre-IB Mathematics book. My passion of film, history and ….cats almost matches my love of physics and mathematics. I have two grown-up children living now in Toronto and Munich respectively.   This year marks ten years of my work at TBS and my return to Poland after almost 30 years of absence.

I have been teaching Mathematics as secondary, A-level and IB for 11 years. I graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2005 with a Secondary Education degree majoring in Mathematics.  In 2008, after moving and working in London for two years, I additionally gained my British Teaching Qualification (QTS), and continued to teach mathematics and was the Assistant Head of year 10, in a comprehensive school just north of Camden. From 2009, I moved with my wife to Kuala Lumpur where I worked in one of the top British International School in South East Asia, Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, A large school of over 2100 students. During this time I was appointed to the role of Assistant Head of year 7.

I joined the British School of Warsaw in August 2012 as a mathematics teacher, but quickly took on the role as Head of Secondary Mathematics until 2016. I have just recently been promoted to Head of Year 10 and 11, and look forward to working once again more directly with the students. The decision to move to TBS Warsaw was a planned decision. I wanted to continue my profession as an inspiring Teacher and work at a school where students were reflective, resilient and determined learners. I have a real passion for being a mathematics teacher and being in the classroom. I relish the fact that students enjoy my lessons and want to learn mathematics.

I was always interested in Mathematics, Physics and other disciplines of knowledge which teach logical and structured thinking. This is why I decided to apply for Mathematics and Computer Science, completing five year course of Master`s Degree in the scope of Applications of Mathematics at Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin. Subsequently, me and my wife who is a fellow maths teacher, decided to settle down in UK and complete Secondary Mathematics PGCE at Southampton University. After gaining Qualified Teacher Status I started teaching in a Secondary School in Bournemouth. We fully enjoyed beautiful Bournemouth and the lovely area of Dorset.

My most recent posting is Leman International School, Chengdu, China. My wife and I have taught there for 5 years, during which it became part of the Nord Anglia Group. So we are continuing in a school which sets high standards, though we are looking forward to moving to a larger school were we will meet new colleagues and have new experiences with a European flavour.

I have taught for 30 years, 10 in China, 2 in Thailand, 1 in Qatar and 17 in United Kingdom. I have held some management posts but have returned to my passion, which is being in theclassroom with creative and inquisitive young people. I love Mathematics, but am also keen on most sports and have coached football for many years.

After three fantastic years teaching in the United States at the British International School of Washington, I desired a new professional challenge closer to the United
Kingdom, with Warsaw being the perfect location.

During my time at the British International School of Washington, I have had the privilege of teaching students from Year 7 through to Year 13 (ages 11-18) and have had numerous classes sitting iGCSE and IB terminal examinations, with all achieving excellent results. Before teaching internationally, I taught at a large comprehensive school in Sheffield, England where I was KS3 leader and helped to raise student attainment considerably.

I have been an international school teacher for 8 years, primarily in the subject areas of Mathematics and I.T. In the latter 4 years of my experience, I had the opportunity to fill a leadership position as Primary Years Coordinator. While the Primary experience was enjoyable and challenging in its own ways, I am eager to join The British School Warsaw as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher. Having always had an affinity for mathematics and after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, I look forward to teaching higher level content and working with more seasoned students.
