MEET OUR TEAM

Sue Hill
Principal
“I am passionate about learning, and have a career in education spanning over 20 years in a variety of countries, including the UK, the UAE, Jordan, and Vietnam.”
Sue Hill, Principal

“Following completion of the National Professional Qualification for Headship, I held several leadership positions, including Head of Primary at the International Community School, Jordan, and Head of Campus at the British International School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

I joined The British School Warsaw from The British International School, Hanoi, where I held the position of Principal. Growing the school from 600 to 1,000 students brought exciting challenges for the development of the campus, including the creation of forward-thinking learning areas promoting creativity, collaboration, and problem solving throughout the school, as well as the design and build of a foyer with a coffee shop for all members of the community.

I am passionate about providing opportunities for students to be involved in community service projects, which can be impactful in creating a better life for people, animals, and the environment. I am looking forward to further enhancing existing collaborations and creating new links at The British School Warsaw.

With a passion for travel, I’ve enjoyed many adventures in various countries, including Bhutan, Peru, Laos, and Nepal. A UK base in the Lake District provides plenty of scope for another of my hobbies: trekking in the mountains!”

Vice-Principal
“I have been teaching for 36 years at university, college, and secondary school levels.”
Dr Jacek Latkowski, Vice-Principal

“I began my secondary school teaching in 1989 when I took a post as a science teacher in Hamilton, Canada.  After six years, I travelled to Europe for a post at an international school in Munich, Germany. This marked the beginning of 25 years of international education and my involvement with the IB programme, teaching IB Physics, Mathematics, and ToK. I also had a fantastic opportunity to teach physics and mathematics at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, as well as at MIT, and I have tried to continue conducting academic research in thermodynamics when time permits.

I have been an IB inspector, examiner, and workshop leader, and written a pre-IB Mathematics book.

My passions for film, history, and cats almost match my love of physics and mathematics. I have two grownup children in Vancouver and Auckland. This year marks twelve years of my work at TBS Warsaw and my return to Poland after almost 30 years’ absence.

Head of Primary
“I thoroughly enjoy working in an international school with a diverse, enthusiastic community focused on improving children’s learning experiences.”
Joanne Prabhu, Head of Primary

“Having grown up in Manchester, I went to university in York where I graduated with a BA in Music with qualified teacher status in 2005. I enjoyed my first three years’ teaching in the UK before deciding to experience working in an international school. In 2008 I joined The British School of Washington, and was appointed as Head of Primary in 2010.

After nine years in DC, I decided it was time for a new challenge, so was over the moon to join The British School of Warsaw and become part of this great community.

Outside of school I enjoy travelling with my husband, and hope to explore as much of Poland as possible!

Alexandra Forth
Head of Early Years
I believe it is important to look for what makes every child special and unique as well as encouraging them to be successful in their studies. I like to focus on developing all their skills and for them to be happy during their school life.
Kay Parker-McMahon, Head of Early Years

“I have been a teacher for over 15 years. My positions have included Head of Early Years, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, and Head of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.

I studied for an MA in Early Childhood Studies at Oxford Brookes University. I worked for Nord Anglia in Shanghai, and I am looking forward to working in Warsaw for Nord Anglia once more. I am deeply committed to delivering outstanding education and care for children and developing their independence and curiosity in the world. It’s been amazing to see young children constantly learning and thriving on new experiences.

As well as teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a young daughter who enjoys swimming, and as a family we love travelling in Asia.”

Anna Fournier
Head of Secondary
“I am proud to be a lifelong learner and to model this to those in my community.”
Anna Fournier, Head of Secondary

“I discovered my passion for teaching while working as a 'gap' student at a school in South Africa. I feel privileged to have found a career that has lifelong learning at its centre. I studied for a BSc in Environmental Biology at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, then for my PGCE at the University of Bath. I am a graduate of the Principal's Training Center, and completed my NPQH through UCL’s Institute for Education.

At the start of my career I taught in government and private schools in the UK. My first taste of an international school was at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, which inspired my move to China to become a founding member of staff at a new international school in Beijing. After nine inspiring years of teaching and leadership learning and development in China’s capital, I moved to a boarding school in Malaysia where I was Head of Middle School, then Head of Senior School, then Head of Secondary. My aim is to do all I can to support learning, and for this to be an intentional, planned process.

I have much experience of curriculum development and international school accreditation. My most recent area of personal development has been learning to make beautiful quilts and cook a good range of curries. I look forward to learning new skills in Warsaw, the first of which I hope to be an acquisition of basic Polish.”

TRANSFORMING LEARNING

TEACHER-LED TECHNOLOGY

At The British School Warsaw, our EdTech approach includes the Nord Anglia Global Curriculum, which unites the world’s most forward-thinking teaching approaches to help students grow into independent, knowledgeable, internationally minded citizens, able to take on some of humanity’s most pressing issues.

Our teachers draw on a wide range of technologies to transform learning, bring subjects to life, and enable students, teachers, and parents alike to celebrate achievements in real time. Through the technology we’ve embedded in daily life and classroom activities, your child will develop critical skills for their future career. They’ll also be connected to thousands of their peers worldwide through Global Campus, Nord Anglia’s online platform.

And through our innovative use of data and analytics, our teachers can make clearer, more insightful decisions about each student’s individual learning path than ever before.

TEACHER QUALITY

Children learn best when they’re happy—and they’re always happy when our teachers bring the highest education standards into the classroom!

Our teachers’ international experiences give them a unique lens through which to educate, and our world-class online training and collaboration via Nord Anglia University mean our staff stay at the forefront of global education practices.

Many of our teachers benefit from subject-specific annual training from leading learning organisations such as MIT, Juilliard, and King’s College London. In fact, Nord Anglia offers every teacher a leadership pathway through our management training courses, culminating in our exclusive Master’s in International Education at King’s College itself.
