Chris Pound

Infants Teacher

Chris Pound joins NAIS Dublin from another Nord Anglia Education school — The British School, Warsaw — and teaches children in the Infant Class.

Mr. Pound grew up in Australia and graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. Having worked professionally as a jazz double bassist for several years with many notable performers, he went on to attain a Graduate Diploma of Education with Distinction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. As a teacher, Mr. Pound has been involved in numerous musical projects including school bands and productions.

He has worked with a wide range of pupils from various primary age groups, with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sparked by a desire to understand more about how children grow as learners, he has developed a strong interest in early childhood development and research, and how it can inform best practice for Early Years practitioners. He seeks to facilitate an environment that fosters each individual child’s ability to express their innate intelligences and flourish as well rounded learners.

Mr. Pound moved to Dublin with his wife, a fellow teacher, and two young children. In his free time, he loves cycling, going on adventures, being a dad and, of course, music!
