Claire Sharkey

Primary Teacher

Claire Sharkey graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA Honours Degree in Primary Education. She remained in Nottingham to begin her teaching career, gaining experience teaching across primary years. Following this, Claire travelled to Singapore where she lived and worked in a Nord Anglia Education school for three years. It was here that Claire had the opportunity to lead the Student Council, inspiring confidence and ambition in all pupils and empowering them to have a positive impact on our world.

Claire has a passion for positive education and classroom climate, enabling a growth mindset within young people. She believes this supports students to acquire a positive perception of their learning, become confident to make mistakes and develop through enquiry, discovery, and dialogue.

Claire feels passionate about student well being and increasing student connectedness through inclusive practice, cultivating a learning environment where all learners can flourish. Claire is driven by her own love of learning and strives to create lessons which inspire, engage, and motivate students to discuss, create and analyse.

Claire is thrilled to be living in Dublin and to be a part of the team of NAIS Dublin. She is looking forward to rediscovering Ireland and many of its hidden gems, especially the magnificent west coast.
