After teaching in Perth for two years, I started my international teaching career at the American School in London, and then spent two sunny years in Oman teaching the IGCSE. I completed the COBIS Middle Leaders Programme whilst there and became involved in school accreditation teams where I met and worked with educators from all over the world. I am very happy to be working in Europe again and am excited to be a part of the welcoming and passionate teaching team at BISB.
I was inspired to study Biology by a particularly energetic Science teacher I had in Year 9 who I credit for my keen interest in DNA and genetics in particular. It is this love of Biology that I hope to pass on to my students.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends and travelling as much as I can. My most memorable experiences so far have been camping in the Sahara desert, riding a camel in front of the pyramids of Giza, sailing around Ha Long Bay in Vietnam and the Croatian islands and dancing with a samba school in Rio de Janeiro. I have travelled to every continent except Antarctica, but is on the list. I plan to get to know a lot more of Slovakia and its neighbouring countries and to learn about new cultures through food and the arts.
