After completing my degree at Loughborough University, then my PGCE and Masters in Education at the University of Cambridge, followed by two years of teaching in London, I moved to China to start my international teaching career. Having spent five years at Dulwich College Shanghai and then two years at the British School Jakarta in Indonesia, I have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing new Asian cultures, cuisines and adventures.
I am an enthusiastic and innovative Biology and TOK teacher, who believes that all children have the right to a stimulating education that best prepares them for our ever-changing and developing world. I motivate my students with exciting and challenging activities that equip them with the knowledge and skills to enable them to develop into critical thinkers who act with integrity and strive to become life-long learners. Over the last nine years, one of my main focuses within education has been on student wellbeing and personal skill development. Having been a Keystage 3 Head of Year in China, and most recently working as part of the IB team at my previous school, I have gained a wealth of experience within this area of education.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and cheeky sausage dog, Hervey! I also like to keep fit and healthy and spend as much time as I can outdoors either playing sport, hiking, running or training for triathlons. I have always gained a great amount of enjoyment from travelling and learning about new cultures.
