Aside from having to solve some seriously difficult maths that would leave most adults stumped, the children also got out and about in KLCC Park, solving real life maths challenges in the shadow of the spectacular Petronas Towers. In the final event, each team had to design a rollercoaster using bamboo sticks, sticky tape and rubber tubing – yes maths, but perhaps not how we know it! Despite a very strong showing in the individual maths assessment, it wasn’t strong enough to get us into the top 3. However, the students can be very proud of their efforts and perseverance throughout the competition.
Of course it wasn’t all hard work, and the children also got to go bowling, make their own magnums and have a BBQ and inflatables party on the final day! So come on Regents, get practicing your maths and in the years to come, this could be your chance to represent the school.
