Michael spent his formative years in the bustling riverside town of Reading, England where he first discovered his lifelong passion for Mathematics. After receiving an Undergraduate Masters in the subject in Oxford, he completed his teacher training so that he could pass on his love of all things numerical to a new generation. He taught in three different schools in London before moving to Hanoi to join BIS in 2021. Michael’s favourite mathematical topics are Proof and Graph Theory, and he is at his happiest when trying (and sometimes succeeding) to show students how mathematics can be beautiful, rather than just functional.
Outside of the classroom, Michael enjoys board games, travelling off the beaten track and watching niche sports, while trying his best to maintain a fitness level capable of completing a casual game of 5-a-side football.
