Northbridge goes to NASA!
In January, Northbridge International School,  was fortunate to have one of its teachers attend the Texas STEAM summit and visit NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas. The opportunity is a part of our Nord Anglia - MIT collaboration which features a range of initiatives aimed to encourage students to be more engaged in STEAM, as well as offer world-class professional development opportunities for our staff

Mr. Jack spent several days visiting other Nord Anglia Education Schools in Houston, British International School of Houston (BISH) and The Village School. Together with NAE staff from across the globe, they collaborated to share best practice and develop and refine the MIT partnership, in order to get the maximum possible benefits for our students across the Nord Anglia Education family of 43 schools.

The trip also included a VIP visit to the Johnson Space Center (NASA). Mr. Jack was lucky enough to see NASA in action, learn about some of the key programs of the future of human spaceflight including the Orion Spacecraft, which will be used to send humans to Mars. The tour also included a visit to NASA's mission control center, including the original Mission Control used throughout the Apollo-era (of "Houston we have a problem" fame).

The focus of the Texas STEAM summit, hosted by The Village School, was how to use STEAM and project-based learning to more effectively engage students and help them develop more relevant skills that will better prepare them for the future.

The experience is a testament to Northbridge International School and Nord Anglia Education's commitment to providing exceptional opportunities to students and staff to connect with the world's leading organisations in all fields. Be it MIT, NASA or Julliard - at NISC we are proud to say that we work with the absolute best because our students and families deserve nothing less.
