First ever Northbridge artistic dance concert 'Alpha' helps us appreciate dance on a new level On 28-29 March 2019, the Northbridge International School Cambodia Dance Program was proud to present 'Alpha'. The show included performances by the NISC Dance Company, Grade 10 Dance Elective, and NISC Bboys. Held in the school's state-of-the-art Dance Studio, dance styles featured included contemporary ballet, jazz, modern, and hip-hop.

The show included performances by the NISC Dance Company, Grade 10 Dance Elective, and NISC Bboys. Held in the school's state-of-the-art Dance Studio, dance styles featured included contemporary ballet, jazz, modern, and hip-hop.

Alpha is the first ever artistic dance concert at Northbridge. Concert dance is different from recital dance because each piece is seen more as a piece of art rather than appreciated solely as entertainment. It raises the value of dance and elevates dance for the audience to appreciate on a higher level.

NISC Dance Company was formed in September in order for more serious and dedicated students to train twice a week. Other performers such as the NISC Bboys and Grade 10 dancers have been rehearsing their pieces since January. 

It was also important in this inaugural dance concert to showcase genuine positive collaboration between dance and other art forms such as music and visual art. The entire tech crew is made up of students in Grade 9 which is a fantastic addition for a successful concert. Please enjoy.

The dance curriculum enhanced by Juilliard focuses on works examining dance from various cultures, history, expressions of human emotion, and literature.
