Message from the Principal

It always inspires me to see the wonderful creativity and imagination our students possess, and bring into lessons on a daily basis.  From looking at the Grade 9 and 10 Reclining Figures, based on the work of the British artist Henry Moore, and created from clay after careful drawing, to seeing the work of the IB DP students in the design and production of the latest version of their own Léman school magazine, to our Grade 5 students working in groups to prepare sketches during a drama lesson and considering body language and pose, all the way to our SK students and their portraits of family made from natural products found in the grounds around the school - all of these and more are a display of expression, an outlet for artistic talent and a means for students to communicate without necessarily using language.

We aim to empower our students to go beyond, not only in lessons where creativity is traditionally valued and desired, but also by providing students with ways to be creative and inspired during other lessons – for example, Maths games created and discussed by Mr. Rutherford.

At Léman we develop our students, not just academically, but in a range of areas and disciplines, as it leads to benefits far greater than initially appears.  By challenging our students to be creative when faced with real life issues and questions, we equip them with skills that are becoming increasingly more important for life that awaits after school.  To provide this education for the future, for our students today.
