Message from the Principal

Two guest writers this week!

World Children's Day

This Wednesday 20th November 2019 all the Léman International School students got to enjoy the 30th anniversary of World’s Children’s Day. In order to celebrate it, we dressed in blue and formed the number 30 with all our students in the upper pitch. One of the main activities was that students could take over teacher’s roles, I personally enjoyed this one because I was “The Principal” Mr. Ferguson, I got to learn about the daily Principal life and how Mr. Ferguson is able to manage more than 500 students daily. We also went to a meeting discussing about further pending matters. This day was just awesome, I would really like to thank all the Leman Staff that made this awesome day possible.
Diego C., Grade 7

Today is Children’s Day!  Diego, Andrew and I were Mr. Ferguson!  First we talked about our school’s advertisement, and we talked about the different styles.
Then we had a meeting where we talked about the library.  Here are our ideas;
- the library should be bigger, much bigger!
- the library should have more books
- the library’s style should be more interesting
After that we look at new bag designs.  There were some small bags for kindergarten children, and there were one or two styles of big bags. There were ones that looked like swimming bags and some normal sized bags for grades 1 to 3. “I think there are not too many big bags” commented Diego, and I agreed with that too.
After all of that, it was time for Art and to go back to being a student again!
Ryan L., Grade 3

Season 2 of clubs will begin next Tuesday, November 26th and run for 6 weeks until January 23rd. Signup will be open from this evening(Friday) at 5:30pm until Sunday at 5:30pm on the schoolsbuddy system. Any pupils not signed up by Monday will be allocated to clubs on that day. As usual the winter season has the added difficulties of high AQI and cold weather resulting in a minimum of outdoors opportunities. However, we have had a great response from our teachers and IB students in creating a varied menu of clubs. If you have any suggestions about activities which we could be running here, please email with your suggestions.
