Message from the Principal

It’s been a spooky end to our week, with the Halloween Parade in our Primary school last Thursday.  This was a wonderful occasion, helped by our Primary Student Council, and it was fantastic to have the support of so many parents and families at the event.  Our Secondary students started a month of cancer awareness as well, with the aim of increasing knowledge of these terrible, yet often preventable, illnesses. Personally, I am always pleased to see student involvement in the activities we have at school, and for the students to be driving what we do.

Our academic success continues to be a highlight, and this week during the Secondary Assembly, our MYP Coordinator Mr. Brown shared the fantastic results our students have achieved in the recent MAP testing.  To have 6 of our own students in the top 1% worldwide is incredible, and a great reflection of the hard work these students have put in this year already, supported by their teachers in the MYP.  There were other notable achievements in a range of subjects, with more students placing in the top 3-4% worldwide — well done to all of you!  We have had our second university offer as well this week, for a place at the world-renowned Durham University in the UK, and we are very proud of this for our Grade 12 student.  Our University Counsellor Mrs. Pass has been coordinating the applications for all of our Grade 12 students and it is impressive that they are already receiving offers for next year and life beyond Léman.

Finally on November 1st, whilst the children enjoy the first day of a long weekend, our teachers had been here at school working hard, looking at STEAM learning, reviewing our policies and procedures and planning in departments.  We aim to model lifelong learning, and look to continue to develop ourselves to be the best we can be.
