My name is Susan Cowley. I am from Aberdeenshire in the North of Scotland. Following my graduation, I worked as an EFL teacher for adults and then for children in Tokyo, Japan for several years. It was teaching in a well-established English language school for children where I developed my interest in teaching children and realized that this was my true passion. Upon completing my PGCE at Canterbury University, I worked in Kent for several years as a primary teacher in a state school. As an additional role in this post, I became the Primary Sports Partnership Link Teacher. In this role, I was responsible, as part of a team, for developing Physical Education in primary schools in the region as part of a larger government initiative. Following this post, I was then fortunate to teach in a large international school in Dubai for several years. Following my return to the UK, I taught in Manchester for several years before relocating to Aberdeenshire to teach in a rural primary school. I am passionate about teaching and learning to the highest possible standard and am excited about joining a school, which promotes creativity and innovative learning experiences for children. I will be joined at Léman International School with my husband and two children who are 10 and 8 years old.
