The Week Ahead
It is the last week of term, and the last Community Group newsletter for the year! It has been an action packed term for us with lots of events and activities spread out over the last 4 months. Way back in August, we started off with Orientation Week followed by walking tours of Kang Qiao and Jin Qiao, getting wet at a very rainy Family Picnic, eating delicious food at the International Food Fair, visiting Hong Qaio Pearl and Flower markets, watching the fireworks at Bonfire Night and of course getting into the Christmas spirit at the annual Bazaar. These events have been a wonderful way to meet with the wider community, get the kids together, and of course raise money for the important charities we fund.
None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for all of you. A big thank you to all of you who have helped out, giving generously of your time to make these events and activities possible – and also to those of you who came along to support them. We look forward to more community events with you all next term.
On that note….here’s a sneak preview of what we already have planned for next year:
- Drinks night for parents and teachers – Saturday, 21st January, 2017
The Community Group would like to invite everyone to join them for a casual drink at the Big Bamboo in Jin Qaio (259 Hongfeng Lu). We will be there from 7.30pm onwards. Come along and catch up with friends after the Christmas Break. This will be a very relaxed evening – just turn up and have a drink and/or a bite to eat.
- Temple Fair – Sunday 22nd January, 2017
This event is organised by the School and is always a lovely way to join in the celebrations leading up to the Chinese New Year.
- – 2017年1月22日周日
- Welcome Back Lunch – Wednesday 22nd February, 2017
Look out for more information about the Welcome Back lunch in the first few weeks back at school. We would love to see you all for a nice lunch and maybe a little tipple!
There will be lots of other exciting things happening both during the week and the weekends next year! Make sure you stay tuned by reading our news in the school newsletter every week.
So…from all of us on the Core Committee, and the wider Community Group, we wish you a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Keep safe wherever you may be, whether it is travelling to see loved ones or staying here in Shanghai. Most of all, enjoy the break and recharge those internal batteries for a busy Term 2.
