Principal's Message - 18th February 2016

Finally the sun is shining and we feel the warmth of spring is around the corner. Certainly the school has sprung back into life with a vengeance this week!

The Hive was buzzing earlier this week with Primary parents engaged in workshops with our Head of Primary, Mrs Passante and Deputy Head of Primary, Mr Scrymgeour. This week we also got a sneak peek of Beauty and the Beast in our Year 1 assembly. If you don’t have your tickets yet, be quick, as they are selling fast and I guarantee you won’t want to miss this show. I can’t think of anything better, with the build-up to the much anticipated opening of Disney on our doorstep, than to enjoy a night at the theatre with a Disney classic such as Beauty and the Beast.

For our older Secondary students the countdown begins to the final stretch before the exam period. As they dedicate themselves to their studies, they not only relish the opportunities for additional support with revision sessions, but engage fully in all aspects of school life. Whether this be attending leadership conferences, gracing the stage in the form of performing arts or taking to the field in sports, our students continue to engage with all opportunities presented to them with drive, determination and enthusiasm.

Of course life for our Year 7 to Year 9 students is also full of life beyond the classroom. The Under 15 FOBISIA squad is hard at work preparing for their competition in Hong Kong later this term, with a friendly series of matches this weekend against our sister school in Puxi. Will the roar of the Pudong Tiger be louder than the roar of the Puxi Lion? We do hope so! The form groups in Key Stage 3 will also soon be preparing to run the stalls and activities at this year’s Summer Fun Day - more coming soon from the Community Group about this day.
