Lucy was born and grew up in Manchester, North West England. In 2011, Lucy graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BA in Primary Education. She spent the first five years of her teaching career working in two culturally diverse schools in inner-city Manchester. Lucy joined NAIS Pudong in 2016 and was Lucy’s very first international school experience.
Lucy has experience working across all year groups in Key Stage Two and after two years was successful in being appointed as Key Stage 2 Leader. During her fifth teaching year Lucy was promoted to being Assistant Headteacher with school wide responsibility for assessment, English as an Additional Language and International New Arrivals. Lucy’s experience so far has enabled her to work with students from many different backgrounds and cultures, something she is excited to be able to continue to do in an international setting.
Lucy has always wanted to see more of the world and experience new cultures while continuing to develop her teaching career. During her time in China, she has been able to explore numerous parts of Asia, enjoying the culture and diverse experiences it has to offer. In her spare time Lucy loves than to explore new places and get lost in the pages of a good book.
