Dawn has been teaching since 1995 and started her career as an EFL teacher in Alexandria, Egypt. Since qualifying with a PGCE, she has worked in Beijing and Singapore, and is delighted to join the BISS team in Shanghai. Dawn has taught adults, secondary school children and across all primary ages from Reception to Year 6, although most of her experience has been in the Early Years. Dawn has held a number of middle leadership positions during her teaching career and was Senior Coordinator of Early Childhood in her previous post before moving to Shanghai.
Dawn is passionate about teaching, always instilling high expectations alongside a healthy dose of fun and creativity in the classes she teaches. She believes that children flourish when they are valued, encouraged, motivated, supported and challenged to be the best they can be. As well as this, Dawn always encourages polite manners and kindness among the children she teaches.
Aside from teaching Dawn enjoys travelling, reading, running and swimming. She has run in a number of half marathons, completing the Great Wall run three times, and has now moved on to competing in duathlons and triathlons. Dawn has three children; twins who are studying in the Netherlands and a son who attends BISS in Year 9.
